Updated: Sep 15, 2019

Kidney disease in the United States among young people is alarming. Learn the things that we are doing to our children and ourselves that is causing the problem.

1. Delaying the call to go to the bathroom, holding it.

Keeping your urine in your bladder too long is a hot healthy, having your bladder full for an extended period can as often is the cause of bladder damage. The urine left in the bladder multiplies bacteria quickly. Once the urine returns to the ureter and kidneys, toxic substances can lead to kidney infections, urinary infections, nephritis, and even uremia. When nature calls - head to a lavatory.

2. Overeating salt.

No one should consume more than 5.8 grams of salt in a day.

3. Overeat meat protein.

Large amounts of protein in your diet is harmful to your kidneys. Protein digestion produces ammonia, a very destructive toxin for the organs. The more meat protein in your diet equals more kidney damage.

4. Drink too much caffeine.

Caffeine is a component of many sodas and coffee and tea. This increases your blood pressure, and your kidneys begin to suffer. So you should reduce the amount of caffeine you have a day gradually as stopping suddenly may cause headaches.

5. Drink enough warm water.

It is essential that our kidneys are well hydrated to perform their highest level. If we are not flushing out bodies with warm water toxins can accumulate in the bloodstream due to not having enough fluid to drain them properly through the kidneys. Drink more than 10 glasses of water a day.
